Wayra
In Quechua, one of a variety of traditional native languages of the Incan culture, Wayra is the word for Wind. The exotic sounds of traditional Incan music had been dated back as many as five hundred years. It is one of the most well preserved forms of Native American culture. The contemporary form of this music adapts some western influences and blends them with stories and melodies of the ancient culture of the Andes mountains into fascinating arrangements. Traditional songs are given new life and contemporary songs acquire the timeless sensations of the mystical pan pipes, flute, and natural effects. My visual interpretation of Wayra attempts to convey naturally peaceful and melancholy sounds come from playing the traditional wooden flute of the Andes mountains by a native american musical artist.
